Finally finished the elevators. Just need to roll the leading edges and bolt on the counterbalance weights. The leading edge rolling went well and the skins are sitting nicely together. Using a Gorilla tape made a big difference – boy is that stuff strong.
Final task was the installation of the lead counterbalance weights that I trimmed earlier. I had to do a little adjustment as they were slightly fouling the shop head of the end rivets but easily fixed with the vixen file. Torqued up to 4.7 NM, converted from 28 inch pounds plus 16 as these are stiff nuts.
